FROM A SUSTAINABLE IDEA TO GLOBAL CHAMPIONS – VINUNIVERSITY STUDENTS MAKE THEIR MARK AT THE QS Im…

April 21, 2026

Representing VinUniversity, a student team from the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) and the College of Health Sciences (CHS) outperformed more than 75 teams from 45 countries to secure First Prize in the Beginner category at the QS ImpACT Skills Challenge 2026.

This global competition, inspired by the “Games for Good” model, empowers young people to harness digital games as tools to address the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

The winning team, NPC Studio, comprises Đỗ Minh Thái, Đặng Ngọc Minh Khuê, and Dương Quốc Hùng (Multimedia Communications majors), alongside Nguyễn Gia Thùy (Doctor of Medicine student). Despite limited prior experience in game development, the team distinguished themselves through a strong learning mindset, adaptability, and a clear passion for creative innovation.

During the competition, NPC Studio developed Silvoria, a non-combat role-playing game driven by narrative depth. Set in a deteriorating ancient forest shaped by human activity, the game invites players to navigate choices and consequences surrounding the tension between economic development and environmental preservation. Through this approach, the project raises awareness of climate action and the protection of terrestrial ecosystems.

With a compelling concept, emotionally resonant storytelling, and strong execution within a constrained timeframe, NPC Studio earned high praise from the judging panel. Their achievement underscores the ability of VinUniversity students to integrate technology, storytelling, and interdisciplinary thinking to create meaningful, socially impactful solutions.

The team is now further refining Silvoria in preparation for the upcoming QS ImpACT London Youth Summit, where they will present their work to a broader international audience.

Congratulations to these outstanding students for bringing pride to VinUniversity and for exemplifying a spirit of innovation, social responsibility, and a strong commitment to creating positive global impact.
