CAS Creators Cut EP.01

On the afternoon of March 03, 2026, at VinUniversity, Creator’s Cut: Filmmaking, Musical Storytelling & The Long Game created an inspiring space for dialogue between students and the film crew of “A Little Dream Of Me”, a film currently screening in cinemas nationwide.

Through an engaging conversation with director Chung Chi Cong, producer Thuy Nguyen, and actors Kim Khanh, Doan Hoang, Choco, Anh Nguyen, and Tao Nhan, the talk not only revealed behind-the-scenes insights into the filmmaking process but also sparked profound reflections on the journey of pursuing creativity in a challenging industry.

During the session, the guests shared their journey of many years in developing and perfecting the project, revealing rare glimpses behind the scenes of a completed film. Nurtured over 06 years and 30 days of filming involved facing production challenges, seemingly impossible one-shot takes, and the filmmaking team’s unwavering dedication to their artistic vision, which demonstrated resilience, determination, and, most importantly, a sense of “kindness” amidst the pressures of the market.

Through the film crew’s story, the audiences of VinUni had the opportunity to better understand that creativity is not just a moment of explosive inspiration, but also the result of perseverance, collaboration, and the ability to hold onto belief in a dream long enough to make it a reality.

Besides exploring the characteristics of the musical genre – an experimental direction in Vietnamese cinema – the conversation also expanded to deeper discussions about the art of storytelling through multiple layers of language, from spoken dialogue, body movements to sign language for the hearing impaired. In that space, script, music, acting, and visuals blend together to create a complete emotional experience for the audience. It is through this intersection of creative elements that the audiences not only gain access to the filmmaking process from a professional perspective but are also encouraged to incorporate their own unique style into art and broader social life.

As the first episode of Creator’s Cut concluded, the heartfelt sharing from the film crew not only left a lasting impression and provided motivation but also ignited a passion for filmmaking among VinUnians, encouraging them to continue confidently creating new and groundbreaking ideas.

The College of Arts and Sciences extend our sincere gratitude to our distinguished guests, all leaders, lecturers, staff, and students who participated in the session.

Let’s look back at the memorable moments of an afternoon where cinematic dreams were told with passion, perseverance, and belief in those who share the same dream!
